Dubai – The Green Planet in City Walk striking cylinder-inside-a-cube exterior, and the thriving rainforest within. The middle of the desert is one of the places you’d expect to stroll through an Equatorial Rainforest, and yet architect Grout McTavish has achieved the impossible with this cutting-edge structure. The origami-inspired cube houses all the technology required to sustain the living rainforest in the central glass core, which is home to 3,000 species of tropical plants and animals.

The Green Planet Dubai is an immersive science center based on the Equatorial Rainforest’s of the world. The architecture is based on a fragile origami cube that shields and protects a living biome within the shape of a cylinder. The exterior cube houses the support spaces required to sustain a living environment designed to accommodate over thousands of species of tropical plants, mammals, insects and fish within the desert setting of Dubai.

An Exhibit to encounter is the Sugar Gliders which are small nocturnal mammals. They have a thin skin flap behind their arms that allows them to glide from tree to tree.

Encounter Details

This is an opportunity for guests to get an up-close experience with a Sugar Glider. They can take pictures next to them as well as learn more about why they are unique within the animal kingdom. A biologist will be able to answer any questions you may have during your time with these little ones.

How can you book it?

The Sugar Glider encounter is very unique but limited slots are available and bookings have to be made in advance. Please ask for this when entering The Green Planet Dubai and one of our staff will be happy to assist you.
