This Beverly Hills bathroom invites the light to interact with the design. Often, designers will use structures within a room to create a natural design on the floors and walls when the sunlight shines in all the right places. Here, the wooden slats on the ceiling will create a unique pattern on the floor once the sunlight beams sunshine in the room. Although a bathtub can be positioned anywhere in a room, the designer chose to put it next to the window to add an element of being in touch with nature and using the windows as affectively as possible. To recreate this room, I chose this contemporary marble carved Italian sculptural bath tub, white Arabesco. It would also require the sink to update to the chosen marble bath.
All design is functional, in that every portion of the room has a purpose and serves for something the client would need. Also, design should be convenient. For instance, when the client enters the bathroom, lets assume they have clothing they need to place somewhere and a place to sit to put on their clothing if needed. This room is a large room and the client getting ready for the day in this room is possible. As in every design project, the client is questioned on how they prefer to use a room, in that case, I chose this sofa for the bathroom. Placed next to the window, the sofa serves as a warm cozy place to dry and refresh further after the bath. The sofa can be specified in cloth type and color to match the colors of the room.
