Cooking spaghetti can be tricky if you are new to making pasta. The trick is in the timing and in this basic tutorial on how to make spaghetti, it will show how to make spaghetti as if you have never made spaghetti before.
The most important part of cooking spaghetti is the water boiling. Simply place the spaghetti in the boiling water that has been prepped with oil and salt. By adding oil and salt beforehand, it causes the water to boil quicker, and the oil helps keep the spaghetti from sticking. This should take about 6 to 7 minutes.
The spaghetti is ready to serve once it has the consistency you prefer. Some people like al dente meaning it is still a bit raw yet edible, while others like it fully cooked. At this stage, its a good idea to taste test the spaghetti to see if its the right consistency.
When the spaghetti is ready, it is time to drain it into the sink with a strainer. It is also advised to rinse the spaghetti from the starch that accumulated during the cooking process.
You can top the spaghetti with sauces for more interesting flavors.
Pasta is my absolute favorite! its awesome!
