Lox (Yiddish: לאַקס) is a fillet of brined salmon, that may or may not be smoked. Lox is frequently served on a bagel with cream cheese, and often garnished with tomato, sliced onion, cucumbers, and capers.
Recipe makes 4 Servings
- 8 Oz cream cheese
- 2 medium plain bagels, split in half horizontally
- 3 Oz H‑E‑B Select
- Nova Smoked Salmon
- 1 Tbsp capers, chopped
- 1 Tsp fresh dill, lightly chopped or snipped
- 1 Tsp red onion, very thinly diced or sliced
- Soften cream cheese in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.
- Toast bagels to desired doneness.
- Spread bagel generously with cream cheese.
- Gently top with layers of smoked salmon. Finish with capers, fresh dill and red onion.
- Picnic ready.
